Parliament seems to be getting a lot of bad press at the moment however it should be noted that it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. Parliament is doing a great job protecting the interests of the UK from a irresponsible and reckless Prime Minister: Boris Johnson. It is also protecting us from the irresponsible majority that voted to leave the EU and it is ultimately protecting us from the worst outcomes of all of this by attempting to prevent a ‘No Deal Brexit’. Parliament should be applauded for all this but instead it is being chastised and criticised whilst becoming the target for the British right wing press.
Parliament is protecting the UK by not allowing a childish megalomaniac to control the show and get his own way. I have already mentioned that I believe the Tories actually have a secret Brexit agenda whereby a ‘No Deal Brexit’, leaving without any deal at all would actually suit them best. It appears that this policy actually suits them best because it is my belief that this irresponsible and reckless Prime Minister and the vultures that sit next to him on the benches of the House of Commons are pursuing a strategy to bring about a low wage economy in Britain. This, I believe is their ultimate goal.
Brexit largely appealed to right wing racists or the old colonialists

This special relationship between the US and the UK that is supposed to exit and that is so oft referred to seems to be nothing other than a one-sided promise that is dependent upon Donald Trump’s terms and tantrums. This special relationship was announced by Theresa May early on in her premiership and was supposed to be the foundation of the Brexit promise of better trading options post Brexit. It was held up as a model for likely trade agreements outside the EU. Recently we have seen 2 incidents which call this ‘Special Relationship’ into question and shows it up for what it really is: a one-sided attempt by the US to interfere in British Politics and an attempt to assuage power over the British Economy.
Trump lies in wait like a vulture for post Brexit Britain

Let’s face it, David Cameron was most probably the worst Prime Minister that Britain has ever had. His lasting legacy of incompetence can still be witnessed today with the ongoing debacle of Brexit. Not only had he given opportunity to wreck his Country but he also opened the door to to wreck his own Conservative Party through a posthumous demonstration of their ineptness and inadequacies to cope with the stupid promises that he made in order to bribe his way into power. No wonder he legged it and disappeared under a rock as soon as the results of the Brexit Referendum were known.
Despite this being only in recent memory the Conservative Party seem determined to outclass even this disgrace by potentially putting in place a new Prime Minister with the credentials to outclass even this dubious and notorious dishonour. It would appear that the momentum to win the battle to be the next Prime Minister is held by Boris Johnson despite the fact that in TV debate and in TV interview he appears to have no clear vision about what to do about the Brexit Situation that he inherited from the incompetent Cameron. His ideas seem vague and conflicting and ill thought through. He seems to believe that if his very dubious skills as a negotiator run aground he can rely on arrogance and bullying of the EU to get his own way. Something very public school about this attitude in my opinion don’t you think? When questioned about this attitude towards and concerns for the livelihoods of British Citizens regarding leaving the EU without a deal, he seemed both disengaged and unbelieving that his actions could have some consequences beyond the realm of Boris which is probably again due to his public school attitude to life. His approach therefore seems quite cavalier, arrogant and rather reckless so why would he be considered as suitable material for a British Prime Minister?
Well despite the Tories recent history of appointing incompetent Prime Ministers and Party leaders it appears that they want to elect a new one with even greater potential to do the Country harm. The Conservative’s ineptness to select a responsible and suitable Prime Minister shows a complete disregard for Britain and it’s citizens. They are seemingly willing to take a huge gamble with the well being of the UK by putting in place a Prime Minister that has the potential to do even more serious harm to the UK and it’s economy than even the stupidity and chaos wreaked by Cameron. We must ask are the Tories fit for purpose could they even organise a piss up in a Brewery? How could they even consider Boris Johnson as suitable for the role of Prime Minister but despite these major concerns they have set him in place as the favourite and preferred candidate seemingly giving his campaign the most momentum at this point. The Tory Party Leadership race is still open and the race to be the next Prime Minister is still ongoing. The Tories have really sown the seeds of their own demise in the selection and preference shown towards Johnson. The public will never forgive the Tories if they make a hash of Brexit and leave the EU without a deal. They need to select their new Leader and next Prime Minister wisely in order to avoid further catastrophe and embarrassment for both themselves and the UK as a whole. Jeremy Hunt by the same token seemingly has the same agenda albeit with a slightly different style. Hunt seems to have the same disregard for the consequences of a no deal Brexit therefore the Tories have locked themselves into a single course of action by fielding 2 potential candidates, for the role of the next Prime Minister, who both have exactly the same agenda.
Brexit is dead in the water and staying in the EU is now the most popular option amongst the British People. How do I know this because if you check out the House of Commons Petition Site@ Petitions-UK Government you will see that the amount of people actually signing the petition to abandon Article 50 and remain in the EU is far more popular than the petitions requesting to Leave the EU without a Deal and another to honour the Referendum Result. The Petition to stay in the EU and abandon Brexit is actually 9x higher in popularity than its closest rival. This should put away any doubt that the meagre 3.8% majority in favour of leaving the EU actually exists any longer because it does not. It has long gone now that the realities of leaving the EU are coming home. Continue reading Brexit is dead in the water and staying in the EU is now the most popular option
I initially wrote this regarding Theresa May’s unenviable Brexit dilemma however since her forced resignation I have decided to update it as of 05/06/19. In reality there will not be many changes to make because the dilemma for the Tories remains the same no matter who they choose to be their new Leader. To most of us it would appear a rather pointless excercise changing Leader at this Stage. It is like changing a Football Manger on the Last Game of the Season: it will make little difference. However for the unfortunate Prime Minister May her team was full of self serving opportunists, not really a team at all really so her demise this far on came as no real shock to anyone. It comes as no real surprise then that this Team has done so badly for the Country achieving almost nothing during it’s residency. Now the Tories are looking for a new Leader to unify the team but the challenges remain exactly as they were for Theresa May.
Problems lie ahead for any new Tory Leader and they need to choose very wisely who is going to be at the helm. May’s deal with the EU was not enough to unify her party behind her or enough for the support of the DUP either. These Problems remain and the EU is unlikly to offer any better deal to the incoming Prime Minister either. In fact only yesterday the EU released a statement toughening up their stance and drawing a clear line that Negotiations will not continue after the 31/10/19 and failure to reach agreement before that date will result in Britain leaving without any deal at all on that date. problems that face the new Tory leader still remain that EU will not give Britain the deal that it requires to satisfy Parliament and also will not be satisfactory to the the British Public because of fudged proposals for the deal which is unlikely to satisfy what most Leavers voted for in the first place. Neither can any new Leader let the process continue to a ‘No Deal’ scenario mainly because this outcome puts the Conservative Party at incredible future risks of becoming non electable for a extended period should things go badly. This is a huge Brexit dilemma for any new Leader of the the Conservative Party. The process is not just about getting Brexit done by some hard line ( reckless) Brexiteer it is about ensuring that the Tories have a future as a viable Party after we do go on to Leave the EU. It is more about the circumstances surrounding our departure and the implications for Britain as we do.

The Brexit Circus just goes around and around in circles getting us nowhere. The Prime Minister Theresa May and her clown, David Davis, seem to have no idea at all of how to negotiate with the EU. All we seem to be seeing from Theresa May is her abilities to annoy the EU with her misguided arrogance and insistence that Britain will dictate the terms of it’s departure from the EU, whilst the EU seems equally insistent that it will not submit to our demands. Pretty much everyone else with an ounce of sense in this Country knows that we just cannot dictate the terms of our departure and insist that we get everything that we want: it just does not work like that. The EU is also telling us the same message that Britain cannot dictate terms to them and insist that it gets all it wants. In reality we have a very weak hand to play whilst the EU holds a much stronger position. They have more to gain and less to loose from all this. Membership subscriptions bring rewards and privileges enjoyed by members and outside of the club you loose these rights and privileges and benefits associated with membership. It’s plain and simple and quite simply the message that the EU wants to send to other member countries that may think of leaving: that they should beware of what lies beyond the boundaries of the Membership Circle. Britain will no doubt suffer as a consequence of leaving this Membership Circle and the EU will be keen to reinforce this message. Any Leave Campaigners that had the notion that we could leave the EU and retain or cherry pick our terms of departure leaving in it’s place an arrangement that was more favourable to Britain was simply: delusional, misinformed or simply misguided.

Brexit should be having a profound effect on football if we apply the same logic to football matches as we have done to the Brexit Process! This sounds pretty daft and vague doesn’t it but if you think about it there are similarities and if we applied to same rules then football might be quite a different game. The process is about winners and losers and how we determine which is which. The Brexit process is being taken forward based on the fact that the Leave Campaign managed to secure a 3.8 % majority over the Remain Campaign.
So lets apply this to a Football Match situation and say that despite what happens on the pitch the outcome and final result will actually be determined by the relative amounts of fans present from each of the respective teams. Footballing skills and reasonable argument caused by the scoring of goals on the field of play become meaningless. Also a draw is impossible to achieve. Success is simply measured by the amounts of fans participating/attending. The Team with the most fans in attendance wins no matter what takes place on the field of play. If your team has the most fans it wins. There is no competition to see which team is the most determined or skillful, these have no consequence on the outcome of the game and do not figure in the assessment. The majority will always win in this situation and logic and reasonable argument based upon gameplay and skillfulness can be disregarded. The same applies to Brexit, where reasonable argument and consequence have been ignored in favour of Majority Rule.
So next time I want to make a decision that effects me and my family should I go and consult a cross section of the public which takes no notice of their educational background, occupation or abilities to make choices based on the information that I provide to them. Should I then base my final choices and decisions upon what may be their very unlearned opinion about matters of which they have no understanding or knowledge but of which instead they may just have an opinion? Is majority decision the right choice to make simply because it is based on numbers? We elect Governments to make learned choices for us. Our democratic system elects those that we choose through a majority voting system but the difference here and after that is we elect them in a contest but then we expect them to make the right choices after that and not to have to consult us and seek a majority. We empower them to make choices on our behalf that which we would hope represents our best interests and the interests of Britain as a whole. What we can learn from the recent EU Referendum in 2016 is that Majority decisions do not always work in our interest and our democratic system is not supposed to act in that way either.
Lets face it we all like a Fairy Tale Ending but the reality for our Brexit is that this is extremely unlikely to happen. Instead politicians are trying their hardest to make us believe that this could actually happen. Yes politicians from all sides seem to have lost their grip on reality and are placing their faith in a goodwill process and departing gesture from the European Union (EU). I find it hard to believe that politicians like Jeremy Corbyn actually believe in what they are promoting: it’s just absurd and ridiculous. Not that Jeremy Corbyn is either of these because I can envisage it from his perspective he is only trying to be reasonable and seem to be acting in the best interests of his country. A Customs Union would be the best thing and the best outcome from this messy Brexit process but this is extremely unlikely to happen. A Customs Union represents the arrangements that we currently have in place. It is a benefit of being a member state of the EU. The likelihood of the EU granting us the same set of privileges upon our departure from the EU is highly unlikely unless they are prepared to let other member states leave the EU with the same arrangements. The idea and notion that we will get a Customs Union upon our departure from the EU is nothing more than a fary tale that will never happen. Departure from a club by failing to pay our subscriptions from any club would mean a loss of benefits of being a member of that club: it’s plain and simple and this will be the perspective of the EU member states that remain a part of that club: to believe otherwise would be to delude ourselves. As a consequence Britain will loose all advantages of being a member state and others who still remain in the membership group will benefit from our departure. Is that clear enough for delusional Britain because I cannot spell it out any clearer? Yes we all want the current benefits and the lack of Borders but that is not what will actually occur.

On 16/09/19 Boris Johnson turned up for talks in Luxembourg with the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, with what amounted to an empty briefcase ( meaning that there were no new proposals to consider despite having pledged to Angela Merkel last month that he would be ready to offer a new set of proposals within a 30 day time frame). So what does this tell us about Boris Johnson’s strategy for leaving the EU? Well in my opinion it reveals that he is either insane or that he is just creating a huge bluff. So why would Bodge-it Johnson and the Tories want to create a huge bluff and who are they trying to bluff. Well certainly not the EU Commission who are now in no doubt at all that the Tories (not the UK) want to leave the EU with no deal at all. No instead they are trying to bluff and deceive the British Public into believing that they are interested in a deal with the EU when in reality what they really want is a ‘no deal Brexit’ from the EU. Have you ever wondered why the Tories are so keen to push ahead with ‘a no deal Brexit’ despite the gloomy forecast for the UK’s Economic Future and the reality for the majority of UK citizens? Have you ever wondered if they are not telling you something? Perhaps Brexit is just a smokescreen for some other plans the Tories have for the UK.
Boris Johnson and the Tories are being deceitful about Brexit negotiations whereby a no deal Brexit might better suit their plans for the UK
Well in my opinion the plain truth about why they are so keen to achieve a departure from the European Union at whatever cost to this Country lies in the past and the Conservatives’ continued allegiance to the principles of Thatcherism. A recession in the UK enables the Tories to bring about changes to wage structures, an opportunity to scrap/abandon the minimum wage, workers rights, conditions of service and the list goes on. Traditionally Conservatism and Conservative policies have reacted to conditions of recession with the introduction of severe Austerity measures. Thatcherism pursued openly and helped bring about high levels of unemployment in order to increase competition for work and to drive down wages to bare minimums whilst also swinging a hatchet at the Benefits Systems which she saw as an additional burden. Now it would appear that Boris Johnson and those that stand behind him such as the likes of Jacob Rees Mogg want to return to those bad old days. The condescending Rees Mogg in particular, who resembles a Victorian in every aspect of his personality and demeanour, would like to see the working classes put in their place which would be for him in a Victorian Slum if he could gain personally from it. The Tories secret agenda is therefore a return to Thatcherite values in order to exploit the working classes in order to pursue the idea of a low wage economy. A ‘no deal Brexit’ gives them this opportunity to bring this about and seemingly at the will of, and with the seal of approval of the British people. The Tories are duping the British public into falling into this trap. they intend to make a mug of us all.

Brexit may be good for Boris but it’s bad for Britain. Given the recent admissions by the British Government that Brexit will severely weaken the British Economy is it still right to press ahead? Can the small majority of 3.8 % still survive the release of information, which only now reveals the true impact on the UK’s Economy of our departure from the EU. Having taken this reality check would not the vote now be much closer with a possible swing to the Remain Campaign instead? Now having the correct information to hand would it now seem to be the time to question the validity of the Referendum Result taken in 2016 and press ahead with these messy Brexit negotiations? Should we not have been given this information before we made our voting choices in 2016 and would it have changed the way we voted if we had been given the correct information? Brexit now seems to be much less about common sense and the common good of UK citizens: and more about the politicians being mindful about a result that seemed more like an opinion poll and worried that by not carrying through Brexit they will suffer in future General Elections.
