Penny Mordaunt will basically do anything for a job. She supported Liz Truss’s ideas to get in her cabinet when her own chances of becoming PM slipped away. Now she’s having another go but her ideas about what she would and wouldn’t do if she got the job remain extremely vague which basically amounts to having no idea at all. So all in all what we do know about Penny Mordaunt is that she is ambitious and that’s about it. She also changes her track to suit the moment and to best serve her own purpose and ambition. We also know nothing about what her policies are because it seems that they are basically made up on the hoof. Strikingly similar to Liz Tuss who just couldn’t fill in the details and hid from real scrutiny: Mordaunt would be equally disastrous as the Prime Minister. Surely by now she should recognise the error of such ways given the quick demise and shining example that Liz Truss gave as a way in which to not do things. However it seems not to be the case. Mordaunt remains vague and non-committal and as such unconvincing.
Category: Conservative Party Leadership Contest
The Conservatives have managed to tie themselves into a knot by fielding 2 remaining candidates with identical strategies regarding Brexit. In order to get a ‘Quick fix Brexit’ in the hope of putting a stop to the continuing embarrassment they have only 2 candidates left in the Conservative Party Leadership Contest and neither of these have the right temperament to be Prime Minister. Both of the remaining 2 candidates seem determined to lead the country into a disastrous no deal scenario not for the good of the country but in order to satisfy hard line members of the Conservative Party. There is no alternative solution on the table. In the Conservative Party Leadership Contest there now remains only now 2 candidates. The lack lustre race to be the next Leader of the Conservative Party is now drawing to a close. Thus far the battle to be the next Prime Minister has been quite uninspiring which has only gone to show that there is very little real talent in the Conservative Party. This is further demonstrated by what remains after the first few rounds of the contest. We have been left with a poor choice of either Boris Johnson or Jeremy Hunt.
In the Conservative Party Leadership Contest there seems to have been a great deal of support and momentum for Boris Johnson so far. However Boris Johnson seems to be offering a confusing, unclear strategy for dealing with the Brexit issue. One suspects that it is more about getting a big personality in place rather than examining the prospective policies of each candidate. There seems to have been a push of right wing Conservative values that is seemingly giving Boris Johnson’s campaign more momentum whilst on the real issues that matter Boris Johnson seems to be lacking detail. His plans remain vague and confusing bordering on arrogant. He seems to be under the impression that he could bully the EU into accepting a set of ridiculous and unreasonable demands. The sad thing is that this attitude has a considerable amount of support in Conservative Party at the moment to the detriment of having a responsible attitude to governing the country for the best interests of the country and to safeguard it’s citizens. One suspects that they are hoping for a quick fix, Bodge job Brexit in order to escape the ridicule that they rightly deserve. The Tories are not fit to lead this country because they are willing to take a massive gamble with the livelihoods of ordinary citizens.
Here are some posts reflecting some of my thoughts on the matter.
What a Blunder: Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng trips up over his own ego
‘Levelling up’ was always just a slogan
Video evidence exposes ‘ Levelling Up’ as a fraud. Boris Johnson’s policy exposed as a cover up to divert funds away from urban areas to wealthy Tory rural areas. Rishi Sunak was filmed admitting that he personally diverted money allocated to urban areas to more wealthy rural areas under Tory control. So this is what the Tories meant by levelling up.
‘Levelling up was always just a slogan without substance. Levelling up was just a slogan designed to attract Labour Party voters with empty promises. Levelling up was a slogan designed to divide loyalties in a blatant attempt to defraud voters and grab power.
Tories seem to want a quick fix Brexit by calling upon Hunt & Bodge it Johnson
Tories are desperate to rid themselves of the continuing embarrassment of Brexit so they seem to be placing their faith in the dodgy building firm of Hunt & Bodge it. They seem to want a quick fix to Brexit (a Rush Job) in order to rid themselves of the continued embarrassment of seemingly not being able to successfully get the job done. In order to hide their incompetence they have given the work to Hunt & Bodge it a dodgy local firm with a poor reputation which rumour has it will soon be going into liquidation anyway. But wasting public money by giving contracts to dodgy businesses has never really worried the Tories anyway.
Both Hunt and Bodge it claim that they can get the job done on time by the deadline but neither can guarantee the quality of their workmanship or that people will not suffer as a result of their labour’s. Health and Safety are not really matters of concern for Hunt & Bodge it!
David Cameron was probably the worst Prime Minister in British history but could this be topped soon?
Let’s not forget the useless David Cameron who was probably the worst British Prime Minister of all time. David Cameron should not be let off easily fir his incompetency: but instead he has be allowed to profit from his profound incompetence and bad judgement. Let’s face it, David Cameron was most probably the worst Prime Minister that Britain has ever had. His lasting legacy of incompetence can still be witnessed today with the ongoing debacle of Brexit. Not only had he given opportunity to wreck his Country but he also opened the door to to wreck his own Conservative Party through a posthumous demonstration of their ineptness and inadequacies to cope with the stupid promises that he made in order to bribe his way into power. No wonder he legged it and disappeared under a rock as soon as the results of the Brexit Referendum were known.
Boris Johnson is a quitter: he is no Prime Minister!
Boris Johnson is a quitter; he is certainly no Prime Minister nor is he fit to be a British Prime Minister. In 2018 Boris Johnson quit Theresa May’s cabinet because he could not support her unwilling to rally to her cause he saw fit to quit because after all he is an opportunist. Johnson saw his future on the back of Theresa May’s demise and he certainly was not willing to offer his help to May because that have thwarted his ambition. No instead he was going to be disloyal to her and make himself as much as a nuisance to her as he possibly could. Boris Johnson is above all in it for himself. When the going gets tough he quits. He is a quitter which is certainly something that Britain does not need right now.
