Phenomenal Trade Deal putting America first?

A Phenomenal Trade Deal but with conditions is this what Trump was implying yesterday when discussing trade with Theresa May. Judging from her body language she appears to be cringing when Trump seems to add certain preconditions to his statement along the lines of everything is on the table and everything is negotiable.

What are these preconditions likely to mean for Britain?

The Labour Party must win back the Scottish Vote if they are to win a General Election

Labour needs to win back Scotland to succeed in a General Election situation and the only way it can do this is to offer a firm commitment to a Second Referendum on Brexit. To fight the SNP in Scotland Labour must ensure that it is in fair fight with the SNP and it can only do this by offering what the SNP is prepared to offer. Without a firm commitment to offer a Second Referendum as a Labour Manifesto Pledge then  Labour’s chances of making any gains in Scotland are doomed. To go into a General Election without such a commitment would be to go into battle unprepared and would most likely lead to another defeat.

Brexit and Dog Poo what are the similarities?

Taking the Dog on it’s daily walk I was struck by the similarities of Brexit and Dog Poo. I was taking the dog out on its walk and it suddenly struck me that I had not brought out any dog poo bags with me. Rather than turn about and go back to the house I decided that there may be an opportunity to rectify my mistake by simply looking around for a discarded bag that often litter the area. This is an unfortunate truth that our social areas are often so littered by such items which are not hard to find because they are all around. It did not take me very hard to find one in a short space of time. Having found one I bent down to pick one up when I was suddenly alarmed by the weight of the bag which I had presumed to be empty. It became clear that the bag was not empty but had in fact been discarded not in a bin and disposed of properly but instead simply thrown on the ground. This act of littering alarmed me because it would have been better to have left the dog poo on the ground to decompose but the act of wrapping it up in a piece of plastic was worse than if it had been left on the ground to decompose naturally. The person who did this must have been ignorant of the problems associated with adding plastic to the environment. It struck me about the levels of ignorance and indifference that exist in so many people around us in our immediate localities and the impact that this has on others who inhabit the same localities. Taking this into a wider level of consequences really scares me.

So what are the similarities between this Dog Poo and Brexit?

Don’t Get Sucked In by Dyson

Are Dyson really good vacuum cleaners or is it just hype? Well my partner bought one recently and I am now thinking that she was quite literally sucked in by the hype. In my opinion what we got was a vacuum cleaner that was inferior to models at least half its price. I am now encouraging her to send it back and get a refund. Quite literally this vacuum struggles to suck up any form of hairs on carpets. All it does is just push it around and into a ball unless you use the smallest nozzle to pick up every individual ball of hairs it makes. So it comes with a large head and a very small head. The small head is good enough but I really do not see why I should have to do all the hoovering throughout the house with a pin sized head to make up for the deficiencies of the proper tool. Quite literally then the only thing that this Dyson model seems to suck up is the suckers who seem to be falling for the Dyson hype and their inflated prices.

How much more Tory incompetence can we take?

So far Theresa May’s Government have achieved- well nothing at all! Brexit is failing or should I say Grayling (is it just a coincidence that Grayling rhymes with Failing?) because this is the new word and standard by which we should judge gross incompetence relating to public affairs.  The only person in the UK to actually benefit from the Theresa May’s incompetence regarding Brexit is Chris Grayling because it has thrown the spotlight off his incompetencies and still the embattled Prime Minister seems unable to deal effectively with both the Brexit issue and with the gross incompetence of Chris Grayling. He must be hoping that this situation continues. Is there any other position where you could cost your employer billions of pounds in losses and still retain your position in the organization? Not in the real world but this kind of behaviour seems acceptable to this Tory Government and to Theresa May.

Chris Grayling should be removed from Office immediately to protect the public from further financial disasters

Chris Grayling should be removed from Public Office immediately to stop and prevent anymore catastrophes blighting the public purse. The Tories clearly cannot be trusted to manage the public finances if they are willing to tolerate this level of incompetence. Grayling has to go now to guard the public finances against further mismanagement. Stop paying for his incompetence! Get rid and stop paying him to be a Minister.

Why should the Public have to settle for this level of incompetence and lack of respect for public funds?

Meanwhile the Prime Minister has taken her eye off everything besides her continuing and perpetual Brexit Dilemma. Theresa May is quite simply a Prime Minister who cannot cope because she is not dealing with anything satisfactorily. She is not dealing with incompetence  relating to others or to herself and her Party.  Quite simply this is a Prime Minister and a Government that have become bogged down and ineffectual. The Tories are becoming a National Embarrassment and are unable to properly govern this Country. It is quite shameful that Grayling has been let off and allowed to stay in post. So why should the public settle for this level of incompetence and lack of respect for public funds from elected Ministers because it would not be tolerated in any other occupation or organization. He is a National Embarrassment and Theresa May should be ashamed of herself and of her own Graylings.

Brexit is dead in the water and staying in the EU is now the most popular option

Brexit is dead in the water and staying in the EU is now the most popular option amongst the British People. How do I know this because if you check out the House of Commons Petition Site@ Petitions-UK Government you will see that the amount of people actually signing the petition to abandon Article 50 and remain in the EU is far more popular than the petitions requesting to Leave the EU without a Deal and another to honour the Referendum Result. The Petition to stay in the EU and abandon Brexit is actually 9x higher in popularity than its closest rival. This should put away any doubt that the meagre 3.8% majority in favour of leaving the EU actually exists any longer because it does not. It has long gone now that the realities of leaving the EU are coming home. Continue reading Brexit is dead in the water and staying in the EU is now the most popular option

Hasn’t Theresa May heard of email?

All this shuttling back and forth between London and Brussels is surely unnecessary! Surely Theresa May could put simple questions like ,’Can we have an extension please? or ‘Could you reconsider the Irish Backstop question?’ in an email to Brussels. Why does she have to go in person to make simple requests, it’s so old fashioned and outdated? However i don’t know why I am so surprised by the fact that she has not got to grips with email yet as I have mentioned in other articles she is out of touch with the will of the British people and she is so blinkered that she is now out of control like a runaway train. To be blunt she is a political dinosaur due for extinction. She has not caught up to the fact that the slender 3.8% majority that once supported Brexit has now long gone and there is now a new ‘will of the British People’ to stop Brexit. Maybe if she had email she might be a little more in touch with both Brussels and with British Public Opinion

3.8% Majority has gone and Brexit is no longer the ‘will of the people’

Whether it is deal or no deal, Brexit is now no longer the ‘will of the British People’. The 3.8% majority in favour of Brexit has now gone and Brexit is no longer the’ will of the people’. The slender majority that initially supported Brexit has been eroded now by realities and realisations of the impact of Brexit either in a no deal scenario or with a poor deal ala Theresa May’s Deal.

Brexit is now dead in the water, it’s 3.8% majority has gone and our politicians need to catch up fast to the new ‘will of the people’

Brexit is now dead in the water and despite this our politicians seem to be ploughing on regardless with cloth ears. The Prime Minister, Theresa May, in particular is the biggest culprit. She is now out of step with public opinion because the 3.8% majority in favour of Brexit has now been eroded to nothing and Brexit is no longer the ‘will of the British People’. After all the bad publicity for Brexit it is inconceivable to imagine that a large proportion have not changed their minds and this is why we need a second referendum now that we have a clearer understanding about the implications of our exit from the EU. Despite this Theresa May is carrying on in a blinkered fashion like a demented racehorse, past its best and running at full speed until it finally exhausts itself and winds up in the knackers yard. British politicians and May in particular need to catch up with public opinion. 2 years is a long time in politics and the EU Referendum was now a very long time ago and public opinion in relation to Brexit has now changed.

Brexit’s 3.8 % has almost certainly gone but May carries on regardless

The Brexit 3.8 % has almost certainly eroded away now that the reality of the implications of EU are becoming clearer. News about the possible outcomes of Brexit is now becoming much clearer with investment in the UK declining and big businesses pulling up roots and walking. Prices of goods are set to rise and there is a possibility of food shortages. Public opinion and desire for Brexit, either with deal or no deal, has almost certainly eroded away the meagre 3.8% majority it had over 2 years ago. Despite all this Theresa May and the out of touch politicians in Government seem oblivious to this change in public opinion and are still determined to push through to complete Brexit regardless. How out of touch and blinkered can they be to this change in public opinion? Opinions change over 2 years + and the desire to leave the EU has now dwindled considerably. Besides which you would have only to look at the overall composition of the British people to realise that the outcome of the original vote should have been adjusted to account for the composition of that vote which was racist, or lacked understanding of the underlying issues. In reality there is at least 3.8 % + of the British people that are racists, bigots, illiterate and just plain stupid. So in reality the vote should have been adjusted accordingly by factoring in the overall composition of British Society to nullify their impact on the overall outcome of the vote. Instead we have been held to account by a small majority representing the most unpleasant and unsavoury side of British Society. Great Job!

Tories Brexit dilemma: Caution or Recklessness

I initially wrote this regarding Theresa May’s unenviable Brexit dilemma however since her forced resignation I have decided to update it as of 05/06/19. In reality there will not be many changes to make because the dilemma for the Tories remains the same no matter who they choose to be their new Leader. To most of us it would appear a rather pointless excercise changing Leader at this Stage. It is like changing a Football Manger on the Last Game of the Season: it will make little difference. However for the unfortunate Prime Minister May her team was full of self serving opportunists, not really a team at all really so her demise this far on came as no real shock to anyone. It comes as no real surprise then that this Team has done so badly for the Country achieving almost nothing during it’s residency. Now the Tories are looking for a new Leader to unify the team but the challenges remain exactly as they were for Theresa May.

Problems lie ahead for any new Tory Leader and they need to choose very wisely who is going to be at the helm. May’s deal with the EU was not enough to unify her party behind her or enough for the support of the DUP either. These Problems remain and the EU is unlikly to offer any better deal to the incoming Prime Minister either. In fact only yesterday the EU released a statement toughening up their stance and drawing a clear line that Negotiations will not continue after the 31/10/19 and failure to reach agreement before that date will result in Britain leaving without any deal at all on that date. problems that face the new Tory leader still remain that EU will not give Britain the deal that it requires to satisfy Parliament and also will not be satisfactory to the  the British Public because of fudged proposals for the deal which is unlikely to satisfy what most Leavers voted for in the first place. Neither can any new Leader let the process continue to a ‘No Deal’ scenario mainly because this outcome puts the Conservative Party at incredible future risks of becoming non electable for a extended period should things go badly.  This is a huge Brexit dilemma for any new Leader of the the Conservative Party. The process is not just about getting Brexit done by some hard line ( reckless) Brexiteer it is about ensuring that the Tories have a future as a viable Party after we do go on to Leave the EU. It is more about the circumstances surrounding our departure and the implications for Britain as we do.
