It is now imperative to re-nationalise the utilities to deal with Inflation and the ‘Cost of Living Crisis’. Inflation is being driven by the energy companies so it’s time to deal with them by taking them back into public ownership, where they will be serving the British people and not exploiting them. Obviously the Tories are unwilling to do this and our next Prime Minister is deluded if she believes that anything less than nationalising the energy providers will work to deal with Inflation and the ‘ Cost of Living Crisis’. Liz Truss may have the top job but her Tory mindset will be her downfall and a constant blindspot to dealing with these issues. The Tories are now the real obstacle to dealing with Inflation and the ‘ Cost of Living Crisis’. The Tories have to go and re- nationalising the utilities must now happen.

Sir Kier Starmer keeps dropping in phrases about the Labour Party’s  electoral  credibility but what is unclear about his focus on this issue is the cost to the Labour  Party’s policies  and ambitions.

So is Starmer wanting to take Labour back to the uninspiring and instantly forgettable Tony Blair years? Well on the face of it it would appear to be so. So even though the Tories are gifting the next General Election to Labour, nervous Starmer still seems intent on watering the Labour Party policies down to worthlessness.

Waterways Pollution in Britain: Thatcher’s privatisations come to a shitty end

Last weeks admissions  of failure by the British  Water Companies are the perfect demonstration of the failure of Margaret  Thatcher’s privatisations. Water pollution  in the UK  reflects and reveals decades  of mismanagement by these water companies and exposes once and for all the failures of Britain’s privatisations  brought about by the Thatcher and Major governments.

Now the final cost of these privatisations  include polluted rivers and the coastline of the British  Isles. Years of lack of investment and mismanagement have surfaced to show us the extent of the problems of privatisation. These companies have been creaming off profits to shareholders and investing in other business interests  whilst neglecting their primary purpose. The stench of corruption and malpractice is as bad as the stench left by them in our polluted rivers and our beaches. Companies such as these have the obligation to look after the resources they are managing not to trash them. This obligation should be a prerequisite to the nature of there work. Hence by increasing pollution in our rivers and upon our beaches they have failed to execute their duties properly and should be removed as a liability as quickly as possible. It wouldn’t take long to do this and to prove this in a court of law and the British Government should be pressed to do so as a matter of obligation. However we have a Conservative Government in power that still supports these failed privations dating back to the Thatcher and Major Governments so any action on the matter seems remote.

Britain needs Socialism now more than ever before

Tory policies have caused Britain  to run aground. Thatcherite policies and values have now backed Britain  into a cul-de-sac. There is no route forward any longer and therefore  no reason to cling to the values of Thatcherism. Britain  has no income and longer is is also bankrupt of ideas. Now the only course of action available to the Tories  is to raise levels of government  income from  taxation. This was inevitable  as a result of privatisation  of Britain’s  assets. Recent Tory  governments  have relied upon borrowing  as a way of shoring up the facade that everything  was under control. Then along came Liz Truss who tore down the mirrors to reveal the true horror  show that the Tories  had created. Truss even managed to make matters worse and that takes some doing.

How to tackle the ‘Cost of Living Crisis’. Well the first obstacle is to remove the Tory Government because  they are not equipped, ethically  or ideologically, to deal effectively  with the ‘Cost of Living Crisis’. In fact many of their policies have contributed to this situation. The legacy  of Thatcherism is also a contributory factor. The current  situation  of having our Energy and other utilities  in the private sector is a major factor contributing to the high levels of Inflation that we are seeing. These Energy  Providers  have just got increasingly  greedy and any attempts  to moderate this by Tory  Government  Policies has been ineffectual.

Baldrick also had a bold and cunning plan: which like Truss’s will come to nothing

As we await the bold plan of the latest installment of the Tory Prime Minister number 4 , Liz Tuss, I am reminded of another bold and cunning plan by Baldrick of Black Adder fame. It might appear that the 2 have something  in common with one another with the announcements of both that they have a bold and cunning plan. The similarities  might not just end there  though because  Baldruck’s plans  always came to nought and similarly those of Liz Truss’s may have the same auspicious ending as well. I suppose  only time will tell. However during the leadership  race I was pretty unconvinced by Truss whose wooly  thinking often exposed her. I was also not convinced that Truss had  any edge at all over Sunak and mostly to the contrary actually I thought Sunak gave the more convincing arguments. Remember  that Truss’s plans to alter income tax actually  didn’t  benefit Pensioners at all. What struck me most about Truss’s  win was that there must be a severe lack of any real talent  at all in the Conservative  Party at the moment if Truss was eventually  crowned as the preferred  candidate.

Britain, for goodness sake wake up and call for re-nationalisation of the utilities, we need new thinking to tackle problems

What’s  wrong with British people? Why are British people so against re-nationalisation of our utilities: our infrastructure? In recent months we have seen how the Energy Providers are exploiting a situation to maximise their profits. We have seen that their actions have led to Inflation and Intertest Rate rises. The time has come to seek to re-nationalise the utilities and in particular the Energy Providers. How long can the British  avoid nationalisation  of the Energy Companies when it’s starring you in the face as the only solution to deal with Inflation  and the ‘ Cost of Living Crisis’. A Tory government  will not do this and without it there is not even a single glimmer of hope that a change in the leadership  of the Tories will help at all.

Liz Truss was a false hope and a mere waste of time.  Now she represents a source of embarrassment for the Tories.  A misguided and a desperate attempt to reverse the fortune of the Tories. A government  led by Liz Truss was a costly  misadventure for the Tories and something they have failed to live down. Liz Truss was a costly mistake both for the Tories  and the country as a whole. Through Liz Truss, the Tories  have shown that they cannot  be relied upon to do the right thing and nationalise the energy providers  in the U for the good of the country. The misadventure of the Tories  investing faith in Liz Truss’s  government just goes to show how desperately  ineffective  Tory  policies are. Obviously  renationalising and public ownership  in general are blind spot for all Tories and as long as it is then right thing to do will remain undone because the Tories still have belief in Thatcherite policies. But time after time we are now hearing about the failures of Thatcherism  that haunt the British  Economy and which continue to hold Britain  back.

Re-nationalise the Energy Providers is the only option to deal with Inflation: the Tories are the only obstacle

It is evident  that the only solution  to deal with Inflation  is to re-nationalise the Energy Providers in the UK: the only obstacle  to be removed is the Tories. It is now in the national interest to re- nationalise these Energy Providers to deal with Inflation and to prevent the gross profiteering by these utilities which is against the national interests. Quite simply the current situation is intolerable and is the only factor  driving inflation higher  and higher. The Tories  have lost any control and regulation  of the utilities and Ofgen is defunct  and unfit for purpose. Price Cap: My Arse

There is no EnergyPrice Cap. No meaningful intervention  and no controls and certainly  no regulating body. Price Cap: my Arse. Energy  companies  and utilities are setting any arbitrary  prices that they like without intervention from this useless Tory Government. Energy companies  and utilities  can basically  charge what they want and over inflate their greed and profiteering  at the same time. Only the threats of re- nationalisation can rein them in now.

This post has been made in response to Kevin Peachey’s article that appeared today on the BBC’s App and website  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-57764601  .It is widely  expected that the Bank of England will raise interest rates today in order to tackle Inflation. This is a very predictable text book response to Inflation and seen by many as the preferred method  to tackle  Inflation. The BBC has inferred  that this Inflation is as a result of the lack of goods in the Economy after the Pandemic. From what I remember of the Pandemic is wasn’t goods availability that was problematic it was just that there appeared to be a shift away from people actually going to get goods to a situation whereby goods were being mainly ordered and delivered. Sure enough there was some drop in production but this didn’t impact greatly on availability. There was however more of a drop in services in that sector of the Economy.  However today all I ever see down our street and on our estate is loads and loads of delivery vans constantly  shuffling about and delivering goods to people’s  homes via Amazon and DPD to name but a few. Also I myself  have ordered much since the Pandemic  ended and have enjoyed taking advantage  of one day delivery schemes. So when the BBC state lack of goods as a cause of this current period of Inflation , I simply have to  laugh. I have never recently gone onto the Internet and Amazon, in particular, where I remember being informed that the goods that I wished to order were out of stock. This has been my recent experience.  So where is this shortage of goods driving this Inflation? It simply does not exist but has become an easy  scapegoat to avoid the real finger of suspicion.

The real cause of Inflation is the greedy energy and utilities  companies hiking up profits and disguising these as pass on costs.

Levelling up was just a slogan to defuse the power of real Socialist Economic Principles

The idea of levelling up was just a slogan  to diffuse the power of real Socialist Economic Principles. This is how the Tories  were using it to divide tradional voting loyalties in an attempt to grab power away from Labour. There was no substance to their claims that they can level up Britain. The Tories  were hinting or trying to convince voters that they were offering some form of socialism which simply isn’t true. Using the ‘levelling  up’ slogan and banner was an attempt to steal ground from various political parties  with a bona-fide claim to real socialist policies. The Tories  were obviously pretty scarred of socialism and socialist policies which have become increasingly important  to the British  voters. It is a clever ploy with the intention of making you believe that The Tories are something which they definitely are not. The Tories are not socialists nor will they ever be but ‘levelling up ‘ was simply a slogan and a ploy to make you believe they could be. However the General Election of 2019 was simply a single policy election and not many voters actually looked beyond that. The only issue for voters was who they believed could get Brexit done as swiftly as possible: because everyone was fed up with hearing about it.
