Putin is not interested in peace so he must be defeated

Putin is not interested in peace but President Donald Trump has been trying hard to legitimize Putin trying to convince that he is. Is it that Trump has very clearly misinterpreted the situation or is unable to read Putin’s intentions or is he actually taking instructions from Putin?

‘Be Nice to Putin  Day’ must end now because  Putin  is not interested  in peace

So Friday  15th August 2025 was ‘Be Nice to Putin Day’ dedicated  by President  Donald Trump. What did that achieve?  Well nothing at all really. Putin is a war criminal and a tyrant and instead of being nice to him and offering him a warm welcome he should have been arrested as soon as he stepped  foot on American  soil. God knows what Trump and Putin talked about during their ‘ summit ‘ in Alaska. Most likely Trump was trying to normalize trade relationships  with Russia or taking instructions from Putin. The summit  was a calculated attempt by Putin to buy extra time and extra goodwill from the Trump administration. Putin was not prepared to give an inch on his demands regarding the Ukraine. Following  this summit it is immediately  evident that Trump speaks the words of Putin particularly when it comes to NATO  membership. Both Putin and Trump are misleading the world  with a merry dance in a pantomime  of peace.

The issue of NATO  membership for the Ukraine is an issue that Trump has no right to pass comment on but it is clearly  an issue which Putin has raised through Trump. Also why does Trump share Putin’s viewpoints about NATO membership? The reasons Putin has given for this are very tenuous. Also claims of Russia that they initiated the conflict to protect Russian speakers in the Ukraine are pretty flimsy and insubstantial because of course many Ukrainians are going to speak Russian because Ukraine was once a part of the Russian state.

Ukraine is a democratic nation so decisions are reached in a democratic way which protects Russian language speakers as much as any other language speakers. However Russia has never coped well with democracy and free speech anyway so it’s just a concept that they don’t understand. So when Sergie Lavrov raises these points he is just speaking crap.

The ‘Be Nice to Putin Day’ summit  was a sham designed to make Putin look like he is genuinely seeking peace :when in reality Putin is not interested in peace. Nothing was changed by Putin’s meeting with Trump: people are still getting needlessly  killed in Ukraine because of Putin. Nothing has changed and Putin’s  resolve to continue to kill innocent Ukrainian  citizens  has not changed.

Remember that very public display of anger by Trump towards Putin?

Those same killings that had previously aroused President Trump’s very public anger against Putin, now seemed to have been completely  forgotten  about during the nice sentiments and the warm welcome of the ‘ Be Nice to Putin Day’ summit. However  these issues continue  to dominate the news on a daily basis. TRUMP now doesn’t  seem too bothered about them now, since the world has now become swept along with the whole charade of the idea of peace.

The public display  of anger looks like it was staged for the media meant to give the impression  of a legitimate threat to Putin or a call to action. Possibly it was meant to convince us that Donald Trump was serious about real sanctions on Russia and a sense of real frustration  with Putin accompanied by future action. It was meant to convince  us that Donald Trump was in control. Possibly as a first prelude to what was to follow in the charade of peace negotiations. It was all a part of the media circus playing out between  Trump and Putin in public view and for public consumption. It was staged to give the impression  of reality. One feels that the part was well rehearsed and Trump had been well tutored.

The sanctions that Trump mentioned will not come about because of this peace charade

Anyway it wasn’t a matter that was raised during this summit because  Trump didn’t  seem keen to raise awkward issues but instead preferred  to stick to flattery and niceties. The whole pantomime  of peace following  this summit is just a waste of time meant to be a long diversionary tactic which favors Putin and comes at considerable  cost to the Ukraine.

No doubt that we won’t  be hearing anything more about those ‘ heavy sanctions ‘ in the future for as long as Trump and Putin can string us all along about these peace negotiations.

The summit was a sham designed to make it appear that Putin is genuinely  interested  in Peace

Putin is not interested in peace in the Ukraine. Trump was either a willing stooge or an absolute idiot who is easily  taken in by Putin. Most likely  is that he is a Russian  Asset being played by Putin to dupe the American  public. Calling him ‘Validimir’ like he is a friend was too much for me to stomach. I really  can’t  understand how the American  public can be so easily deceived.

It’s  time for European leaders to realize they are being misled

It’s time for European leaders to realize they are being misled by all these falsely raised hopes of peace that have been raised by Trump. European leaders seem to have been swept up in a merry dance orchestrated  by Trump and possibly  Putin. They need to stop wasting  their time in a game of wishful thinking falsely  believing that Putin is actually  interested in peace: he is not. These murmurings of peace are completely  fabricated. They are a diversionary  tactic being implemented by Trump and Putin and designed to wrong foot both the Ukraine  and Europe.

Trump and American involvement on peace negotiations now needs to be sidelined. Trump is an unreliable negotiator who is at least biased towards Putin. At worst he is possibly a Russian Asset. Europe needs to take over now and factor out Trump and America in relation to NATO and the war in Ukraine.

Trump speaks the words of Putin while Putin is not interested  in peace

Now it comes to our attention  that Trump is telling the Ukraine that it must agree to never join NATO if it wants peace. Trump has been rehearsed by Putin to the point that Trump speaks the words of Putin. Trump is not self determining and is just Putin’s puppet. How dare Trump dictate that another self governing  nation of the Ukraine  cannot decide it’s  own destiny. If nothing else this confirms completely  that Trump speaks the words of Putin. Neither Europe  nor the Ukraine should trust Trump or America because it has so thoroughly  been infiltrated by Putin. Europe should decide to both eject the USA from NATO and immediately accept the Ukraine  as one of it’s  member nations.

Accepting the Ukraine  into NATO is the only way to stop this war and frustrate Putin

It was initially claimed that in the event of further peace  negotiations that there would be security  guarantees extended to the Ukraine equivalent to those of Article 5 of the NATO constitution. However since this was announced it has already been somewhat  diluted  by the USA and now it seems that Russia will also be given the opportunity to vet these guarantees to see what would be acceptable to them.

From Zelenskyy’s and the Ukrainian point of view these cast iron security  guarantees  are looking increasingly  flimsy. It is now not even clear if this will involve direct action of just an element of coordination. What does coordination involve? It seems to place the onus on Europe to offer assistance if Putin decided to invade again but may count out the ability of European troops to directly engage with Russian forces if any infringements of any peace deal take place.

These Security Guarantees are now hopelessly weak

It now appears that these security  guarantees will not now contain any boots on the ground approach at all, if Putin makes strong objections to it.

Every way that  you look at these security  guarantees they come no where near to being the cast iron guarantees similar to Article  5 of NATO  convention that was initially promised. It seems to contain ‘get out clauses’ and loopholes and rules of non engagement. I really can’t  understand  why these guarantees have to be made acceptable  to Putin because that just undermines any sense of there being any security  guarantees in the first place. What started as a good hopeful  idea announced by Trump has now become just meaningless, worthless nonsense.

If security  guarantees  are to be offered to Ukraine they must contain a sufficient  deterrent to Putin. That means that Putin should put up and shut up with them because they are there for the purpose of preventing further military action by Russia. They are there to stop Putin side-stepping any peace agreement. They cannot be wooly or poorly defined with opt out clauses allowing nations to withdraw  their support or clauses which prevent nations from coming to the aid of Ukraine by joint military action.  They must  offer a real threat to Putin to keep him in check. They must be binding. They have to have strong measures that would scare Putin.

However if western nations  are prepared to go as far as to offer troop involvement at some point in the future then why aren’t  they willing to do this right now? If they were willing  to offer this now then that may be enough to force Putin to stop this war with the Ukraine  with immediate effect right now without further  peace negotiations.  Why do they wait and what would be the difference between  implementing  it now or later on?

Chances are that Putin is waiting to see what these security  guarantees involve and if he can test them

Putin is not interested in peace at all. He is interested in Russia’s imperialist expansion. He wants to regain many of the states that opted out of the Russian / Soviet block. Ukraine  being one of these he wants to take it back into his sphere of influence. The chances are that Putin is just waiting to see if he can test and exploit these security guarantees before he agrees to them. If he sees weaknesses such as opt out possibilities  and rules of non- engagement together with limited involvement  from the USA  chances are he will agree to them. He will be looking to exploit any weaknesses with further aggression against the Ukraine. He is most likely waiting to see if any peace agreement will give him any future advantage. This is just the way Putin operates. He cannot be trusted at all. We have seen this time and time again. If he thinks that other nations will opt out of obligations  to defend Ukraine or that there is no perceived  threat to Russia he will go again and again until he has all of Ukraine. Putin is not interested  in peace. Both Trump and Putin are leading both Ukraine  and Europe on a pointless  merry dance.

What’s  the point in letting Russia decide what the security guarantees should look like?

If there are to be security  guarantees  it must mean direct action and direct involvement along the front line,  not as we see now, it must translate to troops on the ground and planes in the air and the ability to engage Russian  troops if fired upon. However Trump has made it quite clear that there will be no American Troops on the ground. It is likely that Putin would not agree to peace under such circumstances anyway. Europe  must beware of signing up to a weak security guarantee that favours future exploitation  by Putin. Letting Russia  decide what security guarantees are acceptable to them just allows these guarantees  to be watered down to suit Russia, such as having no European soldiers allowed on the front line and barring the peacekeeping  troops from engaging with Russian troops. Why not just have soldiers with no arms or ammunition at all to suit Russia ?

Since it’s  announcement these security  guarantees now basically  add up to nothing so this isn’t  going to stop Putin pressing on. Zelenskyy needs to reject these proposals right now as unsuitable. Such watered down proposals put the Ukraine  in increased danger of further aggression from Russia and would not now constitute a sufficient deterrent to Putin.

A better way of doing things would be to allow the Ukraine  to join NATO  now. Why do you think Putin is so against this as is clear by Trump’s  reiteration of Putin’s  words on the matter? Why do you think that it seems to have become such a pivotal matter in this new peace process? Any expansion  of NATO limits the amount of Imperialist expansion and reclamation of the old Soviet Block that Putin can achieve. He fears that invasion of any other NATO  country will result in triggering Article 5 of NATO’s constitution with it’s  obligation to defend member states.

Putin is alleged  to have told Trump that he was fearful that if accepted  into NATO then the Ukraine  would have attacked Russia. However  there was no basis for this as the Ukraine  had no plans or thoughts of doing anything so stupid. The Ukraine has been just going about it’s  own business quite relieved that it was no longer  a part of Russia.  So Putin is suggesting  that the invasion of Ukraine  was in effect a preemptive measure which is just bullshit because everyone  knows that the invasion  was just Putin wanting to expand his Imperialism and reclaim states that had managed to break free of Russian / Soviet  control.

Also it seems that Putin’s objections to having borders with 2 other NATO  countries doesn’t  extend to Sweden or Finland who both joined NATO  as a result of Putin’s  invasion of Ukraine. It is more likely  that Putin’s  objections to the Ukraine being in NATO  are based more on it being the final act of the Ukraine to take itself completely out of Putin’s  reach and sphere of influence  for evermore which annoys Putin  the most. With NATO  protection the Ukraine  need never fear Putin  and Russia again and this makes it unobtainable to Putin thus ending his Imperialistic aspirations for that area.

The real reason Putin doesn’t  want the Ukraine to be in NATO is because he fears NATO  and article 5 of the NATO constitution in particular. Being a part of NATO  offers a cast iron guarantee that Putin would not be unable to test and weaken. NATO  offers the greatest  level of security and contains no opt out clauses  or weakened commitments from it’s member nations. Putin would find it very hard to test. It remains to be be seen if Putin is willing to accept these new proposed security  guarantees. I suspect if he feels he can exploit them in the future to his own advantage  he will. Because Putin is not interested  in peace so if he does accept them I would expect that he is doing so because he sees opportunity  to ignore them. The only cast iron security  guarantees that Putin actually  fears would be those that Ukraine  could get through  NATO  membership.

Cowardly Putin is still targeting  the civilian population in Ukraine

NATO  and Europe  must now step up to the mark by allowing the Ukraine to join NATO  with immediate  effect. NATO must give Putin and Russia 2 weeks notice to withdraw it’s  troops because the Ukraine  will be joining NATO. After that point NATO will be sending troops to assist Ukraine. This is the only ultimatum that Putin understands. Europe and NATO’S commitment to this ultimatum  must be unyielding  and firm. This war in Ukraine  is against a tyrant who only understands force and threats so the threats must be forceful. This war in Ukraine  is essentially  a war for Europe and must be supported by NATO. The commitment  to defend Ukraine  cannot be half hearted. It must be supported by commitment  to use it’s  troops and all it’s  machinery of war. Putin must be defeated and destroyed.

Since this ‘Be Nice to Putin Day’ the cowardly, despotic dictator has increased his assault on the civilian population  of Ukraine. His actions just reinforce everything  I have said about him not being interested  in peace at all. This cowardly despot must be eradicated or detained on charges of war crimes. Any summit was a complete  waste of time and it’s  becoming increasingly difficult to understand how Trump could possibly  misread the signs that Putin is not at all interested in peace.
