Putin must not be allowed to win in the Ukraine War. It is imperative that Putin must not be allowed to win anything at all. NATO and the countries of Europe must do all they can to make sure that Putin does not win the Ukraine and is that he is publicly embarrassed in the process. Too many times in the past have the West let Putin score points by not doing enough. Europe now faces it’s biggest challenge since the Second World War and it’s essential that Europe gets it right.
Defeating Putin or at least thwarting his ambitions is Europe’s biggest challenge since the Second World War
Defeating Putin or at least thwarting his ambitions in Ukraine are Europe’s biggest challenge since the second World War. By this token Europe has to ensure that it rises to this challenge and throws everything at it. Putin must not be allowed to win in the Ukraine or to get any advantages from the invasion of the Ukraine. Europe and the West must consider how they abandoned both the Crimea and Syria both of which raised Putin’s level of confidence which ultimately led to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Putin hasn’t had a significant response or challenge to his use of aggression and ambitions of Imperialism. Putin now needs to be taught a lesson. It is imperative that Europe leads the way because under Trump seem disinterested.
Trump and America’s attitude to Ukraine isn’t helping matters
European countries now need to be thinking for themselves and perhaps independently of America. I have spoken previously about the awfully slow movements of democracy and how Putin has taken advantage of this before. Read this article here . As a dictator it is much easier to get things done simply by passing down demands along a chain of command. Much harder for the West because it involves a more democratic debate and a less military system. However we have seen from Trump that this need not neccessarily be any obstacle and maybe the West has a lesson to learn from Trump in that respect to be able to speed up it’s decision making ability. This is essential to react quickly to Putin and Russia. Another obstacle is that all the EU countries don’t necessarily support cohesive action against Putin. There are certain countries even in the EU member states that still support Putin and Russia. Particularly Victor Orban of Hungary. In my opinion in such circumstances it is no use having a system of decision making that needs 100% consent from all member states. A majority share of the vote should be enough to make any decision some of which may become unpopular to other member states. Unanimous decisions are simply unrealistic and weigh the EU down considerably. If Hungary feel aggrevied by the process well so be it! You can’t aim to please everyone all the time. If Hungary feels it can’t deal with that then maybe it’s place is outside the EU. There should be no support for a dictator and a tyrant. This would be a start to speeding up decision making to a point whereby Putin can draw no advantage from his style of dictatorship. At all costs Putin must not be allowed to win in the Ukraine War. Europe should be looking to humiliate Putin in Russia and hence weaken his grip on the country. Putin must not be allowed to win in the Ukraine.
Donald Trump speaks with the voice of Putin
On the 4th July 2025 Donald Trump gave an account of a telephone conversation that he had had with Putin a day earlier. In it Trump passes on a comment from Putin that infers that it is Putin’s intention to seek revenge for the Ukrainian actions on 01/06/25 whereby many of Russia’s aircraft were targetted and destroyed by Ukrainian drones. Of notable absence from the conversation was any challenge offered to this account by Trump. He quite simply spoke with the voice of Putin to convey what was essentially a message of propaganda from Putin. Trump should have made it clear to Putin that Ukrainians have a right to defend themselves from the aggressive actions of Russia. And he should have reminded Putin that he is actually the aggressor. Trump did nothing to challenge the words of Putin and that speaks volumes by itself.
For 3 years the Russians have been targetting the civilian population and the infrastructure of the Ukraine. Trump should have reminded Putin that only war planes were destroyed by the Ukraine with a minimum loss of human life and that in a war situation a Russian Airfield and it’s planes are a legitimate target for the Ukraine. Planes aren’t infrastructure which people need to keep warm, have light and be able to cook a meal. No Trump did nothing to challenge Putin and simply passed on a propaganda message from Putin. Trump speaks with the voice of Putin. Putin is a whingeing poor excuse for a human. Nobody feels sorry for Putin that he lost a number of aircraft used to spread death and destruction in the Ukraine. Putin speaks like a baby. Nobody cares Putin. Hopefully the Ukraine will go on to target more places in Russia in the future with the same level of accuracy and sucess.
Trump just doesn’t seem to get it that Putin must not be allowed to win in the Ukraine. Trump doesn’t seem to understand that his actions are weakening NATO and putting Europe at risk. Trump doesn’t seem to understand that by his actions he is actually strengthening Putin and playing directly into his hands. Or is this intentional?
Donald Trump and America are proving to be an unreliable ally and a possible weak link in NATO. This needs to be considered and possibly a European Pact is stronger than the response that could be considered to come from NATO in the future. Trump is looking for reasons to tone down American support for the Ukraine. Because of this Europe now faces it’s biggest challenge since the Second World War. How it deals with Putin is going to be a clear indicator of how strong Europe is and whether or not it can stand up to and deal effectively with Putin’s Russia. Europian nations must do all they can to make sure that Putin must not be allowed to win in the Ukraine War.
